Mass Intention Requests

New Policy: Mass Intention Requests

Every Mass is a wonderful gift from God. It is the center of the Church’s life, “the source and summit of the Christian life” because, in the celebration of the Mass, we are brought back to Jesus’ Last Supper, the first Mass celebrated.

We consciously recall the love of God poured out for us in the life, death and resurrection of Christ. Many parishioners request Mass Intentions. In consideration of the needs of the parish and of others interested in having a Mass Intention we need now to act.

The new Policy for Mass Intentions is issued so that this parish’s practice of Mass Intentions and Mass Offerings will be in full conformity with the universal law of the Church and the “General Policy for Mass Intentions”.

We shall aim and return to one Mass Intention per Mass. (or the collective family last names in a given Mass). The 11:00 a.m., Mass will be reserved for the Parish living and deceased only —known as The Mass of The People. A maximum of five (5) Masses on specific dates for any particular person or need per calendar year. (former bookings honored) Mass Intentions can only be requested for a Mass that will be celebrated within twelve (12) months from the date of the request.

Mass Intentions are filled on a first come first served basis. Order Masses directly at the parish office, not by telephone or email or through the offertory collection.

Mass Intentions should be scheduled 4 weeks in advance. The date of a Mass Intention is subject to change given the pastoral nature of the parish and the priest’s availability. Let’s be understanding and give all an even chance in requesting Mass Intentions.

Thank you for your consideration with this important pastoral matter.
